Starting at the National Great Rivers Museum take a short training class and then glide along the levee into the historical town of Alton. Learn a brief history of the Melvin Price Locks and Dam, hear about the Lincoln – Douglas Debate, see the first of its kind Clark Bridge, and much more. Meet Me on Route 66 Glided Tour
Meet on the Illinois side of the river and ride the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge across the Mississippi. Follow the bike trail down the Missouri side of the river learning history of the famous Route 66. Brief training is included. Charter tours are available for groups of 4 or more. This tour starts at the Lewis and Clark State Historical Site, located in Hartford, IL. After a brief training you will get to experience the Fort where Lewis and Clark started their westward journey. You will see the confluence where the great rivers meet. Experience first hand the spectacular view of the 150 foot tall Hartford Tower where you can see for miles. Charter tours are for groups of 4 or more.
