Star Trek Lecture Series

Are Starships Possible?

It is easy for science fiction writers to say “Warp Factor Three, Mr. Sulu!”, but is interstellar travel possible within the laws of physics? While at NASA, noted author Marc Millis, President of the Tau Zero Foundation, compiled a surprisingly broad catalog of possible technologies that could enable travel to the stars. (Some of those ideas even consider advancing physics to create Warp Drives.) Learn his favorite pathways to the galaxy in this intriguing presentation.

Presenter: Marc Millis, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics
Cost: Presentation is FREE but reservations are recommended due to limited seating
Location: Saint Louis Science Center May Hall
Program Length: Approximately 1 hour
Age Group: Recommended for Adults

Before the lecture, explore Star Trek: The Exhibition at the discounted evening rate ($12 for adults, $10 for seniors and children). Kaldi's will be open in the Science Center lobby for snacks and refreshments.
