Under the Apple Tree
Get ready to be pulled into physics as we explore one of the fundamental forces of nature – Gravity! We will experiment with dropping, falling, and spinning objects as we investigate the law of gravity. For older students, we will explore air resistance and how gravity bends time, as we look deeper into this theory to explore orbits, black holes and wormholes.

Working together, we will lay out a scale model of the solar system keeping both size and distance in proportion. Along the way, space travelers will keep a log as they learn fun facts about traveling through the solar system.

The Saint Louis Science Center can also provide programming in your school. This is a great way to prepare your class for the science content contained in the exhibition or to enhance the experience after you class has visited the Science Center. Science content in these presentations can be based around your school’s needs, Missouri Grade Level Expectations or Illinois Content-Area Standards, and the specific size and grade of your class. Exciting scientific topics such as alien biology, planet terraforming, space travel, future medicine and black holes are made hands-on, fun and catered to your education needs.
