On certain dates and times, the Science Center will offer Low Sensory Days in the DINOSAURS IN MOTION exhibition. During these times, the exhibition will have regular room lighting (not theatrical or strobe lighting) and the sounds on all videos and the dinosaurs will be off or very low. Please note, the dinosaurs in the exhibition make noise just from their movement, so the exhibition cannot be completely quiet. Those buying tickets at these times will be alerted to the exhibition conditions. Low Sensory Dates (10 - 11am): June 4 June 18 July 2 July 16 August 6 August 20

The Saint Louis Science Center will have extended hours until 11:00pm during Fair St. Louis, July 3 – 5. During that time, Saint Louis Science Center visitors can enjoy: OMNIMAX®Theater - Shows from 10am until 9pm (last showtime). Shows begin every hour on the hour. Click here to see current showtimes. On July 4, military veterans will receive free admission to D-Day: Normandy 1944. Families and friends of military veterans will receive the Science Center’s everyday military discount of $6.00. The Saint Louis Science Center is proud to offer active military members, military veterans and their families special discounts on their visits every day we are open. The Science Center currently offers military discounts (with military I.D. or proof of service) for the OMNIMAX Theater, the Discovery Room, the James S. Hours: Wednesday, July 2, 9:30am to 5:30pm; Thursday-Saturday, July 3 - July 5, 9:30am to 11pm. In addition, visitors of the Science Center can enjoy an iconic lighting of the James S. McDonnell Planetarium. During Fair St. Louis and the holiday weekend, the James S. McDonnell Planetarium will be lit in the patriotic colors of red, white, and blue in celebration of Independence Day. Parking during Fair St. Louis: Parking at the Science Center's 5050 Oakland Avenue lot will be the regular price of $10.00. Because of the volume of vehicles coming into the Science Center parking lot, we ask that visitors be prepared to pay for parking with cash when they arrive. There will be no public parking at the James S. McDonnell Planetarium in Forest Park during the Fair. Visitors returning to the parking lot after the Science Center closes at 11pm can reach the parking lot by using the tunnel under highway 40/64. The Forest Park Trolley will not be in operation from 3pm on July 3 until 9am on July 6. A Fair St. Louis shuttle will be picking up visitors near the Planetarium and running a nonstop route to the Boathouse in Forest Park. Pick up will begin at 4pm on July 4, at noon on July 4, and at 10am on July 5.

The Saint Louis Science Center celebrates our military and veterans every day of the year with special pricing for military personnel, veterans and their families to our OMNIMAX Theater, special exhibitions and more. However, during the run of D-Day: Normandy 1944, military veterans will receive free admission to this film on the following dates: May 26 - Memorial Day June 6 - 70th Anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy July 4 - Independence Day November 11 - Veterans Day December 7 - National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day December 16 - 70th Anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge Due to limited seating, reservations are recommended for veteran free admission days to D-Day: Normandy 1944. Reservations to these special showings are only available by calling our Reservations Department at 314.289.4424.

You can visit DINOSAURS IN MOTION, our special exhibition featuring recycled metal sculptures with exposed mechanics inspired by actual fossils. You can see Titans of the Ice Age, D-Day: Normandy 1944 or Island of Lemurs: Madagascar in the OMNIMAX Theater. During evening hours, receive special rates to the OMNIMAX Theater and special exhibition. The James S. McDonnell Planetarium will highlight the popular Live Sky Tonight shows at 7pm . Don't forget to visit Experience Flight where you can choose your simulator experience or be the pilot or gunner in another fully immersive 360 simulator. Become a Life Science Lab expert. At the activity benches, you can see DNA without a microscope, examine your fingerprints, see your very own cheek cells under a microscope, solve a crime using paper chromatography, and meet planaria and other model organisms that scientists use in their studies of biology. The Discovery Room will have a special 5pm session during July for young learners as they begin to explore science and the exciting world around them, Your family will experience the remarkable natural world together in a nurturing child-friendly environment. So, don't worry if you can't make it by 5:30pm, we're open late 'til 8 on Thursdays!
