Family Science Saturdays

We have a new experience to share with you, your family and friends. Every second Saturday, you can join members of the Science Center staff for the new “Family Science” series. 

The Family Science series will present monthly workshops open to families and adults that teaches them fun ways to share science at home. Children are encouraged and must be attended by a chaperone at a ratio of 1 adult for every 5 children.

Family Science Saturday: This is Your Brain, on Brains
Jan. 11, 11am - 12pm,
Delve into the unseen and amazing science of the brain. The Science Center’s very own Neuroscientist will guide all ages through fun experiments displaying the effects of stress, learning/memory, movement and senses. Work together with friends and family to transmit messages just like a neuron. Neuroscience has never been more fun! If you’re really lucky you might meet a friendly lab pet too.
Cost: $10 per person

Family Science Saturday: EVie, the Electric Truck
March 8th, 11am-12pm
Come to the Science Center and make a new friend, EVie the Electric Truck. She’s innovative, environmentally conscious, beautiful and miles ahead of her time. Climb aboard and explore the evolving world of alternative energy.
Cost: $10 per person

Family Science Saturday: Amphibious Friends
April 12th, 11am-12pm
The Science Center is home to many cute and curious creatures. Observe our amphibians and their unique characteristics using special laboratory equipment. Learn to care for and take home your very own amphibious friend!
