When can I start using my Membership?

Your Membership is active immediately upon our receipt of your payment.

If you join in person, you will receive all your benefits and vouchers right away. If you join by mail, phone or online, there is some processing time in order to send the materials to you. However, you can always call us and opt to pick your materials up at the Membership desk.

How long does it take for my Membership to be mailed?

Approximately two weeks. During high business times like holidays and summer, it may take a little longer.
What do I do if I lost my Membership card?

Please call Membership Services at 314.289.4491 or visit the Membership desk in the main lobby. We will have a replacement mailed out after verifying your address.

If you are visiting and you don’t have a card, present a valid photo ID to the Membership desk, and we can look up your Membership for you.

How often can I use my Membership? How often can I visit?

You can visit as often as you like. You receive free tickets to the James S. McDonnell Planetarium and the Discovery Room every visit – up to the number of people your Membership includes. For example, Family & Friends covers six people, so you can come on a Monday and get six free tickets to a Planetarium Show and the Discovery Room, and come again on the following Saturday and receive the same benefits.

However, you only receive a limited amount of free parking and OMNIMAX® vouchers to use.

Once your vouchers run out, you can renew or upgrade your Membership to another level to receive additional vouchers. You also receive discounted tickets ($6/person) to the OMNIMAX® Theater if you have already used all your vouchers or forgotten them that day.

What if I forgot or lost my vouchers?

If you do not have any parking vouchers, you can still park for free in the lot at the James S. McDonnell Planetarium in Forest Park. If you do not have your OMNIMAX® vouchers, you can still purchase discounted tickets for $6 per Member.

We cannot currently track your vouchers. They need to be treated as cash. As a result, vouchers cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. If you are having issues with your vouchers, please call Membership Services at 314.289.4491.

When do my vouchers expire?

Your vouchers expire with your Membership – one year after purchase. When you renew, you receive a whole new set for another year.

What is the ASTC and what are the reciprocal benefits?

The ASTC is the Association of Science-Technology Centers, a group of currently more than 300 science centers and museums worldwide that participate in the reciprocal Passport Program. This program encourages Members to visit other science centers and museums when traveling.

The reciprocal benefits vary by each museum/center. We recommend you call a museum before your visit to ensure you know what the specific benefits they offer for reciprocal Members.

On the Membership page at slsc.org, there a link to the ASTC Passport Program list with contact information. You can also pick up a list from the Membership desk in the main lobby. This list updates every six months, so please make sure you have the most current version.

What if I forgot my Membership card when I’m visiting another city with an ASTC museum?

Contact Membership Services at 314.289.4491 Monday through Friday, and we will send an email verification of your Membership.

On a weekend, call 314.289.4400 and either Reservations or the staff at Membership desk can verify your Membership for the other museum/center.
