SUMMARY:Discovery Room
DESCRIPTION:The Discovery Room is a self-guided\, hands-on early childhood environment where children (ages 6 months to 6 years) and their adults learn and play together. The exhibits\, toys and experiences are designed to encourage inquiry and exploration of beginning science\, math\, technology and engineering concepts. Some of the kid-friendly activities include water play\, painting on the STEAM easel\, saltwater aquarium observation\, the climb-on rocket ship with its brand-new slide\, magnet wall\, dramatic play and building areas. These sessions last 60 minutes each. Discovery Room sessions are also available at different times. Check the Discovery Room gallery page for the full schedule. \nNon-member price is $6 per person\, and $5 for seniors and military. Member tickets are free – but are required! Tickets for infants under the age of 1 are always free\, regardless of member status. At least one adult\, aged 18 or over\, must be present for every four children. \nThe Discovery Room is for children ages 6 months to 6 years. Groups must have at least one child in this age range to attend a session. Older siblings/friends may attend with a younger scientist as helpers. Children may not be left in the room without an adult present.
