January, February, March Workshops

Stop Motion
Children and adults will collaborate to create a short stop motion video. Sketch out a plan and use Legos to construct backgrounds, props, and characters. The video could be something from your imagination or a story about what you learned at the Science Center. This workshop will allow visitors to tinker with an art form mixed with technology.

Crochet
Being a maker means you are a problem solver! A big problem we face today is what to do with plastic waste. Learn how to reuse plastic shopping bags to create a reusable bag! During this workshop we will demonstrate how to make “plarn” (or plastic-yarn). Then we’ll show you one simple crochet loop that will have you on your way to designing a greener earth with creative thinking.

STEAM legos or Wooden Block Construction
Don’t worry parents, we have your little learner covered. Preschool aged children are welcome to tinker and build with our lego STEAM set or our wooden building blocks.
