Information We Collect

Non-personal Information

We and our third-party service providers (including any third-party content, advertising, and analytics providers) may use a variety of technologies that automatically or passively collect certain information about your use of the Website whenever visit or interact with the Website (“Usage Information”). Usage Information may include:

  • The URL or advertisement that referred you to our website;
  • The search terms you entered into a search engine that led you to our website;

  • The pages within our website that you visit;
  • The date and time you visit the website;

Your personal data is stored by SLSC on its servers, and on the servers of the cloud-based services SLSC engages. SLSC retains data for the duration of the customer’s relationship with SLSC and for a period of time thereafter to allow members to recover accounts if they decide to reactivate such account, and to analyze the data for SLSC’s own operations.

Disclosing information with Third Parties
SLSC may partner with other third-parties to provide specific services (“Third Parties”). When you request such services, SLSC will disclose personal information to the Third Parties to provide the services.

As of the date of this Privacy Policy, we disclose personal information to:

  • Ticketing service providers for purposes of facilitating the purchase of tickets and memberships and managing admissions. We may disclose information including, but not limited to names, contact information, payment information, date and time of visit, and purchased ticket information. The ticketing service provider processes personal information on our behalf to facilitate ticket purchases and admissions, manage ticketing transactions and reservations, provide customer support, and analyze ticketing trends and visitor preferences to help us improve our services. The ticketing service provider may further disclose certain personal information to its downstream third parties in order to provide the ticketing and admission services to us. These downstream third parties may include cloud computing providers, payment processors, email communications processors, database providers, customer relationship management platforms, live event and venue management platforms, and waiver management platforms.
  • Payment processors for processing payments solely for the purpose of processing payments for our services, including ticket purchases, donations, or any other transactions made through our payment systems. All payments for purchases made through the site are completed using a third-party vendor’s online payment system. SLSC may, from time to time, accept payment card transactions outside the site, including (but not limited to) transactions completed at our locations and events.We may disclose to payment processors information such as name, billing address, email address, payment card details, and transaction details.
  • Our e-commerce platform to facilitate the sale and fulfilment of products to our visitors. Personal information disclosed to our e-commerce platform provider may include names, contact information, payment information, and order details.
  • Our nonprofit fundraising platform to host fundraising campaigns and process donations from individuals who wish to support our mission. We may disclose names, contact information, donation amounts, and payment information to process donations.
  • Third-party vendors, industry associates, research parties, and event sponsors. SLSC makes use of third-party vendors and sponsors in its daily business and for events. To the extent you participate in these programs or events, we may disclose your personal information to the third-party vendors or sponsors, which they may use for their own marketing or other purposes. For the avoidance of doubt, SLSC does not control and is not responsible for how sponsors and third-party vendors process, disclose, retain, dispose, or otherwise use your information, and this privacy policy does not apply to any activities conducted or undertaken by the third-party vendors or sponsors. Any questions or concerns you may have with respect to how third-party vendors or sponsors use your personal information must be directed to them and not to SLSC. We make no promise or guarantee that the third-party vendors or sponsors may be able to provide goods or services to, or otherwise engage, with you. You hereby agree that, unless otherwise prohibited by law, you will not assert or maintain against SLSC any action, claim, suit or demand of any kind or nature whatsoever arising from our disclosure or provision of your personal information to the third-party vendors or sponsors.

Promotional packages and education programs

This is required to complete your reservation or registration in the promotional package or educational program and to provide information to each business or educational institution identified by name in the promotion.

SLSC has implemented precautions to help protect your personal information from accidental loss, but the absolute security cannot be guaranteed. It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and your computer or mobile device. SLSC shall not be liable for the transfer of any personal information resulting from loss or distribution of data the corruption of storage media, power failures, natural phenomena, riots, vandalism, sabotage, terrorism or any other event beyond SLSC’s control.

Note to Parents on Our Privacy Policy
SLSC welcomes children to learn more about our organization and, where appropriate, find opportunities to serve their communities through SLSC programs and volunteer activities. However, we encourage this to be done only with their parent’s knowledge and supervision. If you provide personal information to SLSC, you expressly represent and warrant to SLSC that you have given the full right and authority to provide SLSC with such personal information and that SLSC’s use and processing of such personal information as set forth herein will not violate any person’s right or privileges including rights to privacy. No one under age 13 may provide any personal information to the Website. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, do not use or provide any information on this Website or through any of its features, register on the Website, make any purchases through the Website, or provide any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, email address, or any screen name or username you may use. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact us using the contact information located at the beginning of this policy.

E-mail marketing and your rights
You have the right to opt out of receiving e-mail marketing communications and direct mail marketing from us. Generally, the e-mail marketing communications that you receive from us will provide you an option to “unsubscribe” from receiving future e-mail marketing communications from us. You may also unsubscribe from e-mail and direct mail marketing communications from us in accordance with the “contact us” section listed above. Due to production, mailing, and system timelines, it may take some time to process your request. Until your request to change takes effect, you may still receive communications from us. If you send us your request by postal mail, please allow extra time for us to receive your notice. Please note: although you may have opted not to receive communications, you may still receive business related communications such as order confirmations, membership information, or other communications that are necessary to complete your transaction.

Employment applications and talent management
As part of our recruitment and talent management process we collect personal information with respect to individuals who are interested in working for us. In this context we collect employment and application data, such as the following: contact information (e.g., name, title, residential or postal address, telephone number, and personal e-mail address); information in a curriculum vitae, resume, cover letter, or similar documentation; details regarding the type of employment sought, willingness to relocate, job compensation and benefit preferences; health data (e.g., medical conditions); information related to your background, education, criminal record, credit history and similar data; information provided about or by your references or other third parties related to your employment history, skills, qualifications, or education; and, information related to previous applications to us or previous employment history with us. We use this information for the following purposes: to identify and evaluate job applicants; to verify your information; to complete employment, education, background and reference check; to communicate with you about the recruitment process in your application; to comply with our legal, judicial, regulatory, administrative, or other corporate requirements; to analyze and improve our application and recruitment process; to accommodate individuals who may have specialized needs during the employment process; and to protect the rights, interests, and property of our business, other job applicants, employees, or the public, as required, or permitted, by law. Events and video teleconferencing
SLSC hosts and uses video teleconferencing platforms to facilitate conferences, meetings, training events, and other programs. We often use online platforms that are owned and administered by third party service providers (e.g., Google, Zoom, Webex, Teams, etc.). Please be aware that our video teleconferencing may record the content, conversations, and discussions there on, and such records may be stored or retained by our third-party service providers. By participating in our events and video teleconferencing, you hereby acknowledge that the collection of your data is subject to the terms of use and privacy polices of such third party online platforms, consent to the collection and retention of any information provided therein, and you hereby consent to the recording of such activities.

Your State Privacy Rights
State consumer privacy laws may provide their residents with additional rights regarding our use of their personal information.

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Montana, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia may provide (now or in the future) their state residents with rights to:
