Science never stops. Since our Cretaceous diorama was installed in 1991, paleontologists have continued to learn more about the T-Rex, Triceratops, Pteranodons and Cretaceous mammals. This new information gives us a different idea of what this diorama scene may have really looked like!

Visit our beloved T-Rex on the lower level to learn from our new reader rails, which shed new light on these dinosaurs’ appearance and behavior.

Dana Brown Fossil Prep Lab and Dig Site

Explore, excavate and experience our realistic interactive dig site as you discover the world of paleontology. Pretend you’re a paleontologist as you chip away at the dirt to uncover dinosaur fossils buried deep beneath the earth in a reconstruction of the Badlands of Montana.

Stop by the prep lab to watch staff and volunteers work on preparing real dinosaur fossils. The fossils in the dig site are casts from real fossils that can be seen on display in the prep lab!

OMNIMAX Theater films take place in the OMNIMAX Theater on the 2nd floor of the main 5050 Oakland Building. Access is available through the main entrance, then the stairs in the main lobby to the second floor.

Convenient wheelchair accessible seating for the OMNIMAX Theater is available via the third floor entrance. Elevators and ramps serve all public areas of the theater.

The OMNIMAX Theater offers hearing assistance that is not available in any theater in the region. This includes new adjustable caption devices, new hearing assistance devices with Descriptive Video Services(DVS) and Telecoil. When ordering tickets, please let your reservationist know you’re interested in these items, or see an usher before your film begins.
