The Youth Exploring Science (YES) program seeks to promote the Saint Louis Science Center’s mission “to ignite and sustain lifelong science and technology learning throughout the community.” We work with 250 teenagers throughout their high school careers, providing inquiry-based learning that focuses on science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics.
These teens create and participate in their own projects centered around STEAM in an informal learning environment. Our teens gain professional, academic, and real-world skills that build self-confidence and personal success.
YES teens are chosen through our community partners who provide technical and developmental skills to youth throughout the St. Louis area. The teens interact directly with these organizations and community partner members to facilitate science events as well as participate in meaningful internships.
