Youth Exploring Science
An Update on the Youth Exploring Science Program – Updated 03.02.2026
The Youth Exploring Science (YES) program is currently undergoing a comprehensive redesign to take this more than 25-year-old program into its next chapter. Throughout its history, the YES program has played a meaningful role in the lives of young people across our region, helping students build confidence, belonging, and exposure to STEM learning and career pathways. This redesigned program will be able to take the impact even further by providing improved outcome tracking, updated curriculum aligned with evolving STEM fields, and expanded partnerships across the region.
The redesign phase will take approximately 8–12 months and will focus on long-term sustainability, measurable outcomes, and stronger connections to education and career pathways. Recruitment is expected to begin in early 2027, with students participating later that year.
YES remains an important part of the Science Center’s mission. Through our strategic plan, we are reaffirming our commitment to ensuring youth STEM programs are accessible, impactful, and built to last. We are grateful to the students, families, alumni, educators, and partners who have made YES meaningful for a generation of young people — and who will help shape what comes next.
