Breathe and flow beneath the cosmos as the universe unfolds above you.
Relax under the clearest sky in St. Louis! The evening begins with a 15-minute guided Star Show, exploring the current night sky. The lights stay low but the stars stay bright for the 60-minute yoga class that follows. Class is intended to be gentle and beginner-friendly.
Please bring your own yoga mat – a small number will be available first come/first serve.
Doors open at 6:30pm. The Star Show and yoga will begin promptly at 7:00pm.

Due to the dark nature of the planetarium, late admittance or reentry is not permitted. Please arrive on time.
Free parking for this event is available at the Planetarium entrance in Forest Park. Please do not park at the Science Center’s Oakland entrance.

About the Yoga Instructor
Kat McDonald (she/her) is a RYT 500 who works at the VA with Veterans who have spinal cord injury/disorder. It is her goal to make the class welcoming for all and for practitioners to feel empowered to move their body in a way that feels safe and best for them.
She has received training specializing in trauma informed yoga including Mindful Resilience for Trauma Recovery (Veterans Yoga Project), a 20-hour workshop entitled “Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY)”, “Opening Yoga Level 1/II” at Mind Body Solutions focusing on adaptive yoga, and “15-hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training/Weekend Intensive”.

Yes, advanced tickets are required for Yoga Under the Stars. This event is extremely popular and frequently sells out in advance. Tickets can be bought online or by calling the Science Center box office.
Tickets will not be available on-site the night of the event. If the program is not sold out, tickets can be bought online up until the event starts at 7:00pm.
No, Yoga Under the Stars occurs completely inside the comfort of the James S. McDonnell Planetarium. Relax under the largest artificial sky in the Western Hemisphere!
This program is aimed at an adult audience. Keep an eye out for family and children-friendly yoga classes in the future!

Free parking is available at the Planetarium Entrance located in Forest Park.
Please note: this event happens at the Planetarium on the north side of the highway. You will drive through Forest Park to arrive. Do not park at the Science Center’s Oakland Entrance on the south side of the highway – you will have a very long walk!

Location
Yoga Under The Stars happens inside the Star Bay of the McDonnell Planetarium Entrance. Once you enter the building, the Star Bay entrance is on the right of the lobby.
