The Saint Louis Science Center believes that science is for everyone and that everyone has a place in science. This MLK weekend, we celebrate those who have found their niche in STEM, those who make science accessible to everyone and those who are searching for inspiration.

Visit the Science Center Jan. 17-19 as we celebrate the legacy of Dr. King by:

  • Sharing his words to spark curiosity and opportunity.
  • Hosting an “I Have a Dream” Reflection Wall – where guests can share their dreams for this community.
  • Honoring role models that inspire the leaders of today and tomorrow.
  • Continuing programs and partnerships that reflect our diverse community and keep science accessible to all.
  • Recognizing that this legacy continues beyond one weekend, through everyday commitments that ensure that science, education and opportunity belong to everyone.

On Saturday, January 17, take part in the Academy of Science-St. Louis’ Rube Goldberg Engineering Challenge.

Using everyday objects, can you create a contraption that rings a chime in 50 minutes? Complete the challenge in Boeing Hall tomorrow (Jan. 17) at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

On January 18th, we will reflect on dreams:

• Dreams of Dr. King

• Dreams of our community

• Dreams of our future

We are inspired by the dreams you’ve shared and the curiosity you’ve sparked. Let’s continue the celebration by seeking discovery and finding inspiration every day of our lives.

“If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run, then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward”
– DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.

On January 19, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and celebrate his legacy through science and discovery.

This weekend, we asked: “What do you dream of for our community?”, and you answered with hope, with vision and with a commitment toward making our world better! Together, our guests, our partners and our team members furthered the belief that science is for everyone, and that we ALL have a place in science.

We THANK YOU for celebrating dreams, sparking curiosity and moving another step forward. We hope to see you again soon at YOUR Saint Louis Science Center
