Field Trips
Bring your science curriculum to life – and give your students an experience they’ll remember for years to come – with a field trip to the Saint Louis Science Center.
It’s the perfect way to introduce new topics and have fun exploring science.
Here are some guidelines for groups at the Saint Louis Science Center.
- Groups are welcome at the Science Center.
- Groups will be required to make an advanced reservation by contacting our Group Sales line at 314.286.4680 or by filling out our form.
- Walk up groups will not be guaranteed entry into the Science Center.
- Groups with children ages 17 or younger must have 1 adult chaperone for every 10 children.
- When purchasing food for your group, Apple Pay is the only mobile pay option currently available. We do not take Google Pay, Venmo, etc. Taxes apply to purchases made on site for Groups.
- If you need a location to eat your sack lunch for your group, please inquire with the group sales department at 314.286.4680, or email us about available indoor or outdoor group eating areas. The Loft and Science Café areas are not available for sack lunches.
- Buses and RVs cannot park in the main lot or Planetarium lot at the Science Center.

Come face-to-face with Earth’s largest creature through The Blue Whale Story!
Look forward to life-sized displays of this ocean giant.
The Blue Whale Story is more than just a special exhibition, it’s rooted in real science and the tragic loss of nine endangered North Atlantic blue whales that became trapped in sea ice off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada, in 2014.
Although their passing represented a significant loss for an already vulnerable population, two of these whales were recovered and studied — giving scientists from the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) the rare opportunity to examine the blue whale like never before.
The exhibition invites families to discover the wonder of the blue whale while highlighting why protecting these gentle giants is essential to keeping our oceans healthy for future generations.

Can’t arrange a coordinated group visit to the Science Center? No problem. The Science Center offers the chance to set up a promo code for discounted individual purchases for OMNIMAX, Planetarium, or special exhibition tickets*. Have your school, company, or organization’s district office, HR department, Marketing team or other unit inquire about setting up a special discount for individuals within your group. Take a guided tour of the Science Center’s indoor-outdoor agricultural gallery, GROW. Learn about the science behind the food we eat and what’s growing in our gardens, and then chat with the Science Center’s resident chickens. GROW Guided Tours start at $150 for a 45-minute tour for up to 25 people. Anything over 25 people, will be another $150 as a separate group.
