Institution’s New Collaboration with BJC HealthCare Connects St. Louis with STEM in Health and Wellness
ST. LOUIS, MO – April 8, 2025 –Companies and practitioners from throughout the St. Louis Metropolitan Area are among the leading contributors to innovative medical care and research. The Saint Louis Science Center offers exhibits, programs and a new documentary film (Superhuman Body) that illustrate advancements in health science over time.
To further connect with this region’s significant role in cutting-edge medicine, the Science Center welcomes BJC HealthCare as the local presenting collaborator for Superhuman Body, the popular SciFest events held each quarter and additional programming throughout the year. BJC’s work with the Science Center supports key initiatives for both organizations — expanding STEM educational opportunities, promoting innovation in healthcare and fostering community engagement.
“At the Science Center, we’re committed to promoting innovation in STEM and highlighting the ways that St. Louisans have contributed to that advancement,” said Saint Louis Science Center Chief Institutional Advancement Officer Bobby Sanderson. “By enjoying the Superhuman Body film in the OMNIMAX® Theater, connecting with STEM experts during SciFest and exploring the Life Sciences gallery, our guests can discover how innovations in healthcare are improving lives. We’re excited for this new collaboration with BJC HealthCare as well, as both of our organizations are aligned in investments that grow the next generation of STEM professionals in this community.”
The Science Center offers several ways to discover innovative contributions to human health:

- Superhuman Body — Now showing in the Science Center’s OMNIMAX® Theater, Superhuman Body from MacGillivray Freeman Films tells the inspiring story of the researchers, scientists and everyday people behind ground-breaking innovations that allow humans to live longer, healthier lives. Narrated by Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey, the family-friendly, 40-minute film explores how the body works and how science and technology help to save lives when things go wrong. Tickets for the film are $11.50 for adults (free to Science Center members) and are now on sale!
- SciFest — The full-day, free events are where wonder and curiosity come together. Held on select Saturdays throughout the year and open to guests of all ages, SciFests feature opportunities to interact and connect with local professionals and STEM experts on a variety of event themes through hands-on experiences, discussions and fun. The next SciFest (The Great Outdoors) will be May 10, with additional SciFests scheduled in August and November.

- Life Sciences Gallery — Located on the Science Center’s Main Level, this hands-on gallery tells the story of how medical scientists, researchers and practitioners draw inspiration from nature to improve health and foster well-being. The three focal themes of this gallery are how many advancements in medicine were first discovered through nature, how scientists use plants and animals to develop more effective modern medicine, and how innovative medical treatments, tools and solutions come from living things.
