Tonight there is a lunar occultation of Mars visible from St. Louis. The Moon and Mars will be visible in the eastern sky just after sunset. Starting at 9:05 pm and ending at 9:52 pm, the Moon will appear to pass in front of Mars. Additionally, the Moon will be full and Mars will be only a few hours away from opposition – at which point it will appear at its largest and brightest in the sky.
