Tonight you can find the planet Mars in the west about 40 minutes after sunset. If you look at Mars tonight through binoculars, it will appear near the object called Messier 44 or the Beehive star cluster. This is an open star cluster that contains roughly 1000 stars that are approximately 600 million years old. Much younger than our Sun which is roughly 4.5 billion years old.

The western sky as it will look tonight at 9:30 pm. Venus and Mars are both visible in the constellations Gemini and Cancer respectively. Mars will appear to pass by the Beehive star cluster. Star map created using Stellarium
