Mars has two moons – Phobos and Deimos. Phobos orbits close enough to Mars that it is slowly being pulled closer to the planet at a rate of about 2 cm per year. It is predicted that in 100 million years, Phobos will eventually collide with Mars, or break apart to create a ring around it.
