Want to be part of an amazing team of educators and explore science every day? Check out the Saint Louis Science Center’s Junior Internship Program.

The program is a great place for motivated teens to engage with the Saint Louis Community and gain valuable pre-employment experience in a fun, educational setting. Successfully completing the internship can also be a great item for resumes and college applications.

Interns will have the opportunity to work alongside Science Center staff, facilitating positive visitor experiences through an array of tasks and responsibilities. Interns will also be challenged to develop their own deliverables throughout the summer and learn about the world of informal education.

Upon successful completion of one summer program, interns will have the opportunity to continue their internship throughout the school year.

Completed 9th-12th Grade

Key Dates

  • Application Deadline: March 29th, 2020
  • Initial Notification: Mid-April 2020
  • Meet the Galleries Night: Saturday, May 2nd, 2020 5-8pm*
  • Final Notification: Mid-May 2020
  • Junior Intern Orientation: June 6th, 2020*
  • Program Duration: June 8th, 2020- August 2020

*The Meet the Galleries Night and Junior Intern Orientation dates are mandatory. Please do not apply if you cannot attend these events.

Activities

  • Assisting staff in galleries with exhibit interpretation and maintenance
  • Providing positive customer service, including answering visitors’ questions (i.e. “Where’s the nearest restroom?” or “How does this exhibit work?”)
  • Other activities as assigned
