Donors, supporters, and philanthropic partners of the Science Center gathered on Thursday, October 27, for a special VIP reception featuring the Science Center’s latest special exhibition, Becoming Jane: The Evolution of Dr. Jane Goodall.

Featuring themed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, the event celebrated the new special exhibition and served as a thank you for the philanthropic supporters helping make the Science Center’s mission possible.

Becoming Jane: The Evolution of Dr. Jane Goodall allows guests to experience the remarkable story of Dr. Goodall’s pioneering life in STEAM, inviting people of all ages to learn about Dr. Goodall’s life and continuing work through interactive and immersive experiences.

To complement the Becoming Jane exhibition, primatologists from Washington University and the Saint Louis Zoo brought photos and informational materials, as well as a replica termite mound to demonstrate primates’ tool-using skills. Guests had the opportunity to talk with the primatology experts, learn about primate conservation, and hear the latest research into primates and their behavior.

The primatologists even kicked off the event by performing a “pant-hoot,” a vocalization used by chimpanzees to communicate.
