What’s so special about this rabbit? With longer back legs that have more fur and larger toes than other types of rabbit, the snowshoe hare is uniquely equipped to walk on snow. In fact, these adaptations are what give the rabbit its name. Another interesting adaptation is their color-changing fur which helps them blend in with snow and hide from predators. Like this one, the rabbits are white in the winter, but turn reddish-brown in the spring and summer.
