Saint Louis Science Center Again Ranks Among Top 5 in USA Today’s Readers’ Choice Awards
National Vote Places Science Center 3rd as Best Free Museum, 5th as Best Science Museum

USA Today announced this morning that the Saint Louis Science Center finished among the Top Five in two categories of the publication’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards – finishing third in the Best Free Museum category and fifth as the Best Science Museum. This marks the third straight year that the Science Center has placed among the Top Five in these awards.

“It’s an honor to be recognized so highly and so consistently amongst our peers through these USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards,” Saint Louis Science Center President and Chief Executive Officer Todd Bastean notes. “The Science Center’s mission is ‘to inspire everyone to be curious and engaged in science,’ and our colleagues take great pride in presenting unique experiences for our guests inside our building and around our community to achieve this mission. We thank the USA Today panelists and voters for rewarding our efforts.”

The 10Best Awards nominate 20 entities to enter every category, with categories launched every other Monday throughout the year. Nominees are chosen by a panel of expert contributors (USA Today editors, relevant contributors and sources for Gannett properties). After nominations, voting is conducted by readers and other contributors for the month that follows. Individuals were eligible to vote one time each day during the month through the 10Best website. One of the few free science-based museums in the United States, the Science Center is also honored that Newsweek magazine has nominated our institution for their Readers’ Choice Award in the Best Free Museum category. Individuals can select the Saint Louis Science Center for this award by voting one time per day through February 29 here.

The Saint Louis Science Center is free and open to the public during regular hours (Thursdays through Mondays). For more information about the Science Center, please visit slsc.org or call 314-289-4400.
