ST. LOUIS, MO.–Feb. 24, 2023

The Science Center awarded #2 for Best Free Museum and #5 for Best Science Museum

In results announced today, the Saint Louis Science Center ranked nationally within the top five in two categories in the 2023 USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. For the second year in a row, the Science Center placed #5 in the Best Science Museum category, and, for the first time, earned the #2 position for Best Free Museum. The Science Center was selected by a panel of experts and USA Today’s 10Best editors in January. In January and February, readers were invited to vote daily for their favorites in each category. Twenty other organizations nationwide were selected in each category for the voting phase.

“The Science Center is honored to have ranked in the top 5 in both of these categories, which featured esteemed organizations from across the country,” said Todd Bastean, president and CEO of the Science Center. “This honor is a testament to the nationwide reputation of our institution, as well as recognition of the impact our team makes locally and regionally as we inspire everyone to be curious and engaged in
science.”

In 2022, the Science Center served nearly half a million people by igniting curiosity for STEM topics that help develop important skills like critical thinking, collaboration, problem solving and more.

Bastean added, “Our wonderful Science Center team looks forward to continuing to spark passion for science through interactive learning experiences both within the walls of our building and through programs out in our community.” For more information on the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, please visit www.10best.com.
