Your gift to the Science Center helps unlock a better understanding of our STEAM-powered world through accessible science and technology experiences for over 1 million people each year. Through in person programs like SciFest and First Friday, off-site community events with Youth Exploring Science (YES), and digital education efforts for the St. Louis community and region, your gift makes an impact.
For more than two decades our nationally recognized Youth Exploring Science (YES) Program has connected teens from across St. Louis with STEAM through hands-on exploration and mentoring.
YES Teens explore STEAM areas like aerospace, agriscience, engineering, integrated medicine, cybersecurity, and others to gain skills for the jobs and opportunities of tomorrow. YES Teens—many from traditionally underserved communities—also help spark our community’s interest in STEAM with outreach programs at the Science Center, through community partner organizations, and at pop-up science events.
Since the program launched, YES has seen more than 1,185 teens graduate from the program, and more than 206,000 St. Louis community members have been engaged in STEAM learning through YES outreach initiatives.
